Considering all the new restaurants coming to Franklin street, I took it upon myself to asks my peers their opinions about all these new restaurants. They shared how they truly feel about the new ones coming and the old ones coming.

1. Hops Burger Bar

Originating in Greensboro Hops Burger Bar is well known for their burgers. It is replacing the formerly known restaurant Lime.

"My pics for the starters are I would go with the fried goat cheese balls and the carolina red onion rings. From their wall of fries can't go wrong with the poutine and the truffle oil and parmesan. Over to their burgers the North Carolinian, Cuban Cow and Pickle Back are all fan favorites. If that doesn't suit your fancy you can create your own burger and pick among their wide selection of sandwiches salads or their special CRABBY PATTY." - Austin Blair

"The Turkey burger melts in your mouth, I would highly recommend it." - Hannah Thompson

2. Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken

Location where the former McCallister deli was.

"I tried it the other night and I was actually surprised at how good it was. It combined Korean Flavors with American Flavors within their menu which I really appreciated." - Hannah Thompson

3. Medici

Locating across from Lotsa (also a new pizza place on Franklin Street)

"I haven't tried it yet because it's not yet open but I'm pretty excited. Yeah, theres a lot of pizza places on Franklin but what makes this one different is the style of pizza which is Neapolitan." - Grace Smith

4. The Pizza Press

Like Lotsa, The Pizza Press is a build your own pizza location coming to Carolina Square.

"We're just been getting to many pizza places to Franklin street, it'd be nice to see something else for a change."-Kelsey Chan

"I think it'll be good but the fact it's literally the same thing as Lotsa kinda makes it seem like on of them is going to have to go." - Hannah Thompson

5. B. Good

B. Good is a food with roots company that specializes in seasonal foods that support the local communities and farmers. It will be located in Carolina Square as well along with The Pizza Press.

"I'd say i'm pretty exited to try it. When looking at the website it looks like it has a lot of good healthy options along with variety that will please everyone." -Elizabeth Livers

"My favorite aspect of B. Good is how they list their seasonal ingredients on the menu so you know what's in season and a good pick from the menu. They even tell you where they got the food from by listing the NC city it came from next to the item so you know its local." - Austin Blair

I can't wait to try all of these places when they're open!

Happy Eating!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
