If Joe Goldberg was stalking me, he would have probably declared me an idiot by now.
For some reason, it took me nearly three weeks after watching season 2 of 'YOU' to give the joke/pun of the Quinn Twins' names: Forty Quinn and Love Quinn.
Forty.
Love.
Forty. Love.
40-Love.
40-0.
As in the tennis score.
Because tennis is something rich white people love, and the Quinns are the quintessential white rich country-club family. So what did Forty and Love's parents do when they had twins? They named the boy Forty, and the girl Love. And yeah, those twins would grow up to be every bit as dysfunctional, privileged and tragic as a set of twins named after a tennis score as you would imagine.
So there you have it. If you're like me and didn't realize this while binging season 2 of 'YOU' — now you know you're not alone.
And to my friends and family who feel like I'm now an idiot, please know I want to be better. I want to pay more attention to detail. I want to understand puns and references in pop culture more quickly. Not for myself, but for... you.
