As Mother's Day quickly approaches I find myself wondering what gift to get this year. A candle? An outfit? Should I take you out for dinner? I know that no matter what I get you I want it to represent how much you really mean to me. You mean the world to me every day, but on a day like Mother's Day there are a few special things I really want to let you know.
I want to start off by thanking you. Thank you for being the best mom I could ever ask for. I know everyone says that, but I mean it. I could never thank you enough for everything you have done and continue to do for me. Thank you for raising me so well. Without you I would not have graduated high school in the top of my class, made the Dean's List in college or have made any of the accomplishments I continue to make every day. I don't know what I'd do without you. Thank you for always putting me before yourself and always making me feel like I'm important. Thanks for the Mother May I games, trips to Disney world, and toy store visits. Thanks for the days out shopping, reality TV marathons, and adventures with the puppies. Thank you for not only being my mom but my best friend as well. Thank you for being you.
Next, I just want to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for my bitchy moments where I've been just plain mean. I'm sorry for the times when I said things I shouldn't have. Sorry for all the times I argued with you because you usually turned out to be right in the end. And I just want you to know I appreciate all you do. I'm sorry for the times when I'm super critical because you truly are the most amazing person I know. I'm sorry for everything I've done in the past or will do in the future that hurts you because that's the last thing I've ever wanted to do.
Lastly, I just want to tell you how much I love you. I know I'm older and it may seem like I'm around less, but you are and always will be one of the most important people in the world to me. You're my biggest role model as well. I love how caring you are. I love that you always know how to make me laugh. I love that I have such a close relationship with you because I know not many mothers and daughters get to be this close. I love spending time with you. Whether we're at home goofing around or on an extravagant vacation, I'm always having a good time when I'm with you. Mom, just always remember I love you with all my heart.
All and all, I love you mom and I always will. You are the most amazing mother I could ever ask for. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for me. I am beyond lucky to call you my mom. Happy Mother's Day to my biggest supporter, my rock, and my forever best friend.
