The other day I saw a thread on Twitter about generic gifts that all girls would enjoy. Seeing as Thanksgiving is over and now we're all finally on Christmas mode, I decided to put together my own list of fool-proof gift ideas for friends/family/significant others.
1. CANDLES.
Everybody loves candles. Most candles won't exceed $20 and they're perfect for anyone who enjoys nice smells (basically everyone). Also, Bath and Body Works does sales every holiday season so snatch up some $12 candles for a loved one!
2. Socks. Socks. Socks.
Girls go out of their way during the holiday season to buy themed socks. Girls love quirky themed socks with pandas and sushi on them. Go to your local Forever 21 and get her some $3 socks. They will be of great use.
3. Vinyls.
If he/she loves music and has a record player, vinyls are an amazing gift. Typically if you're getting a gift for someone, you'd know them enough to know if they have a record player. Prices can range from the 20s all the way to the 50s but it's totally possible to find good and also cheap-ish vinyls.
4. Running shorts.
Regardless of if she runs, she will love these. Running? Never heard of her. Nike shorts, on the other hand, I live in those. Prices can range on these as well but the clearance rack at Adidas/Nike always has some finds. I got a pair of Adidas running shorts for $10 once. Fool-proof.
5. Mugs/Wine Glasses.
I don't know what it is but girls love things to drink out of. Mugs are the perfect gift for a coffee-lover and it's easy to find mugs that fit with the person's personality. Wine glasses are also a super easy gift. Even if she doesn't drink out of it, she will cherish it. Wine glasses contribute to a girl's false sense of class. She could be sitting in a dorm room with a 5-day-old pizza box and clothes all over the floor but sipping from that wine glass makes her a classy b***h.
6. Makeup.
If you're trying to ball out, head on over to Sephora and ask them for their most popular palette or mascara or contour kit and they will lead you in the right direction. OR, go to Ulta and just stalk up on NYX. Affordable, but pretty decent quality.
7. Collegiate wear.
Being at a college as big as the University of Florida comes with a large amount of pride. Collegiate wear is a perfect gift for any college girl. Collegiate wear can be found pretty much anywhere if the college is big enough but PINK has some really cute collegiate steals that any girl would love.
8. Picture frames.
If you're looking for something a little more sentimental and want to lean away from materialistic stuff, a picture frame is perfect. Just make sure it's a picture the person actually likes of themselves.
