Even though I am so far away from the city, nothing ever beats my excitement than visiting and touring the Big Apple with my family and friends! I have always enjoyed being there and experiencing the crazy and happening night life. I haven’t been in close to 6 years and so much has changed since then! Here are some new and exciting places that I want to check out the next time I go...

1. The Brick Lane Curry House

At this lavish Indian restaurant, there is an ongoing challenge for all customers to try, but be careful if you’re not used to spice! There is a dish called Phaal, which is a British-Indian classic and the chef puts a dangerous spin on it! There are over a dozen different chilies used in making this dish and diners are verbally requested to tell the chef that they won’t hold the restaurant responsible for any damage, so remember to bring a gallon of milk with you if you are brave enough to try!

2. The Pizza Barn

The Barn is home to the 2-foot-long slice of pizza! With over 20 toppings to choose from, the owner and chef of the super slice say that it’s enough to feed 2-3 people! People are always so excited to see how big it is and it also makes for a great social media post!

3. M&M World

It’s safe to say that this is truly every chocolate lover’s dream place! There is so much color and excitement in this shop and it really brings out the kid in you. They have a whole floor dedicated to about 70 tubes of different and innovative flavors of M&M’s. You can even customize your own and write whatever you please!

4. The Black Tap

You can try these amazingly delicious and extremely huge milkshakes! The shop is so famous for them that there is always an hour-long line outside before it even opens! You have to check out the savory and sweet flavors the next you’re there!

5. The Bagel Store

In this shop, you can find the very vibrant and aesthetically pleasing RAINBOW BAGEL! It is the creation of the owner and he has been making them for close to 20 years! He claims that it’s a way to liven up a customer’s day and he enjoys bringing smiles to their faces!

Food is always the best way to connect with others, so the next time you’re in the hype city, enjoy with your friends and loved ones!

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
