Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks, family, and of course food. There is so much delicious food served at Thanksgiving. However, sometimes it can be hard to please every type of foodie. In my family, we have a wide variety of foodies, from a very picky eater to a vegetarian. Appealing to all of these people can be challenging, but it is not impossible. The key is having at least a few dishes that everyone likes on the menu, so everyone is happy and more importantly full after their Thanksgiving meal!
1) The Picky Eater:
Starting at the top of the list is, the picky eater. These people do not like food that is unusual or out of the ordinary and they would much rather stick to simple and plain foods. To please these people make sure you serve turkey, mashed potatoes, and rolls. These foods are simple, plain, and are for sure to appeal to even the pickiest eaters palate.
2) The Vegetarian:
Next on the list is, the vegetarian. For these veggie lovers, it is important to have killer side dishes because that is what they are going to be loading up on. Serve sides like Brussels Sprouts & Butternut Squash with Pomegranates and then some non-vegetable dish like a Wild Rice Pilaf. These two sides are fun and vegetarian-friendly.
3) The Spicy Eater:
Next up we have the spicy eater. In my family, we have one person that seriously loves spicy food so it’s very vital to have Sriracha Sauce as a condiment on the Thanksgiving table. So they have it on hand to spice up and add flavor to all of their food.
4) The Kid:
Number four on the list is, the kids. To please kids try and serve something sweet like sweet potatoes with cinnamon sugar. This is a vegetable dish that tastes like a dessert, which is a win-win for a kid-friendly Thanksgiving meal.
5) The Cheese Lover:
Next on the list is, the cheese lover. To satisfy these peoples love for cheese, serve a charcuterie & cheese plate as an appetizer. Then, when the real Thanksgiving dinner begins, make sure you have some type of macaroni and cheese as a side dish and these foodies will for sure be content.
6) The Sweet Tooth
Ending the list off on a sweet note is the person with the sweet tooth. These people are pretty easy to satisfy but it’s important not just to have desserts for them. So to appeal to this person, make sweet cranberry sauce, so they can drizzle this on top of all of their foods to add that extra kick of sweetness they desperately need. Also don’t forget about the dessert table filled with Thanksgiving sweets like pies, cookies, cake, and more!
Well there you have it, I hope this list helps you appeal to every type of foodie that might be at your table this Thanksgiving season!
