The holidays are upon us, and that means we are all busy with school, work, and finding gifts for the family and friends.

Here are five gift ideas that you can give to your loved ones for the holidays.

1. A personalized crafted gift

With a woodburning pen, you can personalize anything from paper, leather, to wood.

For example, a personalized wooden coaster is a perfect gift for your family or friends. Depending on the person, you can customize a coaster set to their liking. It would literally, be one of a kind.

2. Books

With all the new technology out there, sometimes going back to the simple things, like giving a friend or a family member a book is all that is needed.

Try picking a book that you think that person may enjoy reading. This might take a little research on your part, but it is well worth it.

3. A camera

Although now and days cell phones have all the gadgets and are equipped with impressive cameras, but there is nothing wrong with giving someone a camera.

A camera is solely created for capturing images and therefore are able to perform better, than a cell phone camera. Also, the camera allows you to take images without the distraction of incoming: text messages, calls, and even social media updates.

Plus, the images taken by a camera are usually better quality.

4. A ticket to travel

Most people I know love to travel. Any gift that comes with a ticket to travel to a different country or city is always welcome! I mean, come on, who does not like to travel.

5. Showing that you are grateful

Lastly, the most important gift of all is to be grateful and showing that to your family and friends. The holidays are much more than just giving loved ones material things. It is about family and being thankful that you are surrounded by the people you love.

Show your family and friends that you are grateful that they are in your life. Being thankful for them is much more valuable than any bought gift from a store.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
