Follow Your Path, Find Yourself
Preservation Of Moments

I have 11 days until I turn 21, and I've been taking some time to
acknowledge all that I've accomplished.

It's crazy to think that I was a teenager a couple years ago, and
finding all these great bands and having all these phases that
helped me to find myself, and now I have a music blog that
showcases all those bands and all my new discoveries.

It's been two years since I graduated high school, and two years
that I've been a writer for the Odyssey.

It's insane to think that I was just creating these "characters" as
a sketch idea when I was about 11, and now I've found infinite
unique designs and they're going to be my trademark.

I've been in college since August 2017 and I decided to major in
Business Management with a focus in Human Resources.

I've done so much writing and I've improved so much, and somehow I
always come up with new ideas.

It's crazy to think that my photography started as a small hobby,
and my first camera was my family's Vivitar, and eventually my
Nintendo DSi and my Blackberry, and then my Canon which came to me
through luck.

I always dreamed of getting a professional camera, and I always
used what I had, so it was always a dream that was in a the back of my head but it never truly left.

As of today, I've taken over 9,000 pictures with that camera and I
created my photo blog on a whim back in 2015, and it's such an
awesome outlet to post my variety of snapshots. Also, every cover
photo on my Odyssey articles is one of my pictures!

I figured that since I have so many, I could mix all my passions
together and make one big representation of everything I love!
Now, I've written all this to show that if you have passion, you
should follow it. There will be things that happen along the way
that you don;'t expect, but it's part of the puzzle. It's another
piece of what makes you unique.

We're all unique beings with individual perspectives. Everyone's
perspective deserves to be showcased because there's no reason not
to showcase others as well as yourself.
It is said that the best way to gain experience in anything is to
research and discover, and you may even have to go out of your
comfort zone but this is where we find out how much we truly
capable of.

So, even though it can seem like a struggle as first, know that
it's proof of how much potential you have and none of your efforts
go to waste. Everything is a learning experience and you gain
perspective from these things.

If you've got a perspective, show it. You have your own mind and
you have the choice to conform or you can use your mind and break
new ground. It's scary, but all the best things are this way.

You have a moment to make a decision, and you've gotta be careful,
but don't lose out on great opportunities in the process.

Follow your path and find yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
