Dr. Seuss's The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

This is my first December at college and I am not prepared. Thanksgiving break was great and all, but now I'm back for these two weeks of December. Dr. Seuss's "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" is by far my favorite Christmas movie and as much as I hate to say it, the Grinch is my spirit animal. (Yes, I did procrastinate writing two essays while writing this).

My exact thoughts the moment I stepped foot into my first class after Thanksgiving.

Sure I am freaking out about next semester, finals...well everything really, but, Christmas music fixes everything.

I wake up and count the days till I go home for Christmas and this is my reaction every time.

I have so much homework and so much studying to do so please do not invite me last minute to do something I want to do because I will do that instead of my work and it will be bad.

Me when I wake up for my 9:45 class at 9:30 and realize I didn't do the reading yet.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

I am the girl baking the Christmas themed food in the lounge. It helps me relieve stress. I am the girl blasting the Christmas music. It helps me relieve stress. I am the girl who has her whole room decorated. Christmas makes me happy. OK?

When I realize I still have two weeks left of this.

Reading through the assignments left on my course's syllabi.

When your professors decide to add work to your syllabus last minute!

Should I have done my essay? Should I have done six other things on my to-do list? Yes. Yes, I should.

I finally get a break and want to go out with my friends. Except I have nothing to wear (why did I leave that one sweater home?).

Every time I think about my finals I think about how they will either destroy me or I will destroy them. Hmmm, which will come first?

Really I just want anything fun to distract me from these last two weeks.

Let's just say this is a conversation I have with my roommate daily.

The stress of all this is really hitting me in the feels. Why does college equal crying?

Stop. I don't want all this FOMO. Just leave me alone social media. Maybe I should just quit you for the next two weeks.

Sorry Studying, I'm busy. Maybe call again tomorrow.

I'M FREE. IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK.

The feeling I will get when I (hopefully) pass all my finals.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
