Finals week is slowly approaching and the stress is real. How have I been taking the edge off? Lately, I've been watching Christmas movies to get me into the spirit and calm me down.
One of my favorites in Elf, the story of an elf who discovers he's actually human and travels from the North Pole to New York City, to rekindle a relationship with his father and get people to believe in Santa and the magic of Christmas again.
I've realized that I resonate with a lot of Buddy the Elf's experiences...
1. The last week of classes
We just are so thrilled that break is only a week away that we forget all the crap we have to do.
2. Procrastination
We know what we did. We waited until the last second to write that paper or study for that exam and now we're hating ourselves for it.
3. Actually studying
When you finally figure out a study schedule for yourself and you think you have it all figured out...
4. Trying to go to the library
...And then half of the school shows up to the library for finals week. You're loyal to the library and have never seen them before, and now YOU can't find a seat? Nu-uh
5. Taking your actual finals
Finals are harder than everyone says.
6. Getting to go home
You finished your last final, and now you can get home to your family, your bed, home-cooked meals, and the Christmas spirit.
Happy Holidays everyone. Good luck on all of your finals!
