Ch.11: Shamara's POV

"When you can't find the one person that you can't live without." ~Matt

We decided use Chloe's room for the night. We went to the second floor and found it a couple of doors from the stairway. We walked in and closed the door with a sigh.

'Well that went well." Chloe said sarcastically.

I plopped down on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

"How did I get into this mess?" I muttered to myself.

"I don't know but I blame Matt since he is your boy toy and all." Chloe said while picking at her nails.

"He is not my boy toy, Chloe."

"If you say so." She said as she shrugged.

"Ok." I started when I rolled over to my side. "What should we do tonight?"

"We could watch a movie. I vote Disney."

"I agree with the movie idea. Disney? No. We need action and but kicking." Dawn said back.

I stood up to look at the mirror and raised my shirt up to see my wound. I was shocked to see a little pink scar left.

"Oh. By the way, Shamara. Matt forgot to mention this while he was panicking. Werewolves heal a lot quicker than normal people." Dawn said while looking through the movie titles.

"Yeah I noticed. So who won the battle?"

"I did." Dawn replied with a smile.

"Know you didn't. You cheated." Chloe stumped her foot.

"Or maybe you are a sore loser." She said while throwing a pillow at Chloe.

"You..." Chloe lunged at Dawn and they start rolling around and yelling at each other.

I chuckled and headed toward the door.

"I'm going to get snacks." I said before leaving.

I headed down the stairs to the kitchen and started gathering the stuff we needed. I just finished putting everything in a box when Matt came in. And shirtless like there isn't anyone else living here. I would say something to him but I think I'm drooling.

"Like what you see?" He asked with a cocky smile. I shook my head to clear my thoughts.

"I was just thinking that if anyone seen that then they would go run and hide." I tried not to smile or laugh.

"Are you saying I'm not attractive?"

"You said it not me." I said as I turned back to what I was doing so he wouldn't see me smiling.

I sensed that he was getting closer to me. I saw his arms trap me to the counter. I felt his breath on my ear and it was making my heart rate increase.

"Are you sure your not attracted? If not then why did you drool when you saw me?" He whispered.

"Maybe I was thinking of someone else."

He growled loudly and turned me around to face him. His eyes turned black like he was losing control over something. I grabbed his face with both hands when it seemed like it was getting worse.

"Hey. Calm down. I was kidding, Matt. Look at me and calm down." It seemed like it was working until he grabbed me into a tight hug. He put his face into my neck and tried to control his breathing. I wrapped my arms around him and started to relax in his embrace. I smelt a combination between woods and chocolate as I took in his scent. Hmm.

He pulled back and looked into my eyes. His were still dark but held an emotion that I couldn't comprehend.

He touched my cheek and held tighter. I was too focused on his beautiful blue eyes when he started leaning forward. I closed my eyes when I felt his lips touch mine softly. It was slow at first and then he deepened it. It felt like my whole body was on fire from this kiss. He grabbed my hips and lifted me on top the counter without breaking apart. He stood between my legs and put a hand behind my head. My arms went around his neck to deepen it even further. It felt right and I felt safe for the first time in awhile.

There wasn't any room left between us. When he lifted me, he accidentally raised my shirt from part of my stomach. Tingles exploded from where he touched me. I have never felt this way before and I just met him.

After a couple of minutes, we parted and leaned our foreheads on each other.

"Wow." Is all I could say.

"Wow, indeed. You know what this means, right?"

"Are we...mates?" I asked.

"Yeah. We are."

After getting my head back in the game, I told Matt good night and headed back to Chloe's room. As I walked in, I noticed Hunger Games was on and Chloe pouting in the corner.

"What took you so long and why are you blushing?" Dawn asked while Chloe paused the movie. "Wait! Swollen lips, bright eyes, and blushing. You kiss someone didn't you?! Don't you dare try yo lie to me, Shamara Williamson."

"Umm... It was... Matt." It's hard to avoid the subject when someone as a look that can kill.

"I knew it!" Chloe yelled.

"Sorry, sister. I knew this way before you." Dawn retorted back.

And we are back to this again.

After the girls stopped arguing, we went to bed and talked until we fell asleep.

After that day, school was got more interesting for me. Matt walked me to all my classes and I sat by him at lunch. Time went by as I learned more about the werewolf community. We haven't seen any rogues for over a month now. I learned that there is a council that meets every year to talk about the problems that they are facing. Apparently, all Alphas are apart of the council. Dad learned about what happened with Salem and was happy when I found out about the family. I decided not to tell them about me and Matt being mates. Mom will not be happy when I do.

Winter time is coming and the girls decided to take me clothes shopping at a store called Alex's Corner Store. We walked in and headed to the brown haired and hazel eyed women at the counter. She looks about in her early forties. She looked at us and smiled.

"Dawn, sweetie, it's nice to see you out and about. Chloe, you are lovely as ever. And who is this? A new friend?'

"Mom. This is Shamara Williamson. Doc's daughter. We need to get some winter clothing." Dawn replied with a smile.

"You two can grab the ones in the back. I will get Shamara's stack real quick."

Dawn picked up some clothes and added it to the already large stack.

"Oh. I forgot to introduce myself." She paused while holding a pair of flannel leggings.

"My name is Alexandra Owens but you can call my Mrs. Owens. I normally set up a box to go with the clothes that would match you best. Hopefully, you like these."

"So far I am amazed. You picked everything that I would have in a matter of minutes.'

"It's what I do."

After a few minutes, Chloe and Dawn came back while Mrs. Owens was packing my new clothes.

"Here you go, dear. Ya'll have a good time and don't stay up too late." She said as we turned toward the door.

We walked to my car and loaded up. Dawn went to the back while Chloe took the shot gun. As we were driving we just played music until Chloe asked, "So what have you and Matt been up to?"

"Nothing, really. We only hang out at school or occasionally at the pack house." I replied.

"What is taking him so long?!" Dawn yelled.

"I don't know. Let's ask him." Matt's number popped up on the screen of the car.

"Well speak of the devil," Chloe muttered.

"Shh. Hey, Matt. We are on our way back to the pack house. What's up?" I answered.

"We just saw a rogue on the border. Can you stay at your house until we figure out if he or she is dangerous?"

"Yeah. I'll turn around now. And call me when you think it is safe."

"Will do."

"Hey, fur bag. When are you going to ask your girlfriend out? She isn't getting any younger." Dawn yelled in the back.

"Ok. Ok. Shamara would you like to go on a date with me this weekend?"

I laughed at his nervousness.

"Yes, Matt. I'll call later for the details."

"Ok. Talk to you later."

"See ya..." I was interrupted when something crashed into my door. I screamed and barely made out Matt screaming out my name. We turned and rolled a couple of times before we came to a full stop upside down. I opened my eyes and saw a couple of scratches from the broken windshield. I looked over to Chloe and saw she had a cut on her head and was unconscious. I looked back to Dawn that had a broken nose and was trying to get out of the seatbelt.

"Are you ok, Dawn?"

"Yeah. How about ya'll?" She asked while pulling out a knife from her pocket.

"Just a few cuts but Chloe as a cut on her head and is unconscious."

"Ok. I'll cut you down after I'm free then we will go around to get Chloe out."

"Ok." I heard a thump and a curse.

"Are you ok?" I asked again.

"Shit. That hurt. Hold on I'm coming to your side."

She cut me loose and we got out of the car to go to Chloe's side.

"Nice to see you again, beautiful." I heard behind me. I turned around and saw four guys surrounding us with Salem in the middle.

"Go away, Salem. Matt will be here any minute." I growled out.

He clicked his tongue at me. "He won't be here in time. We will be safe somewhere before he can find us. Come willingly or we will use force."

"Over my dead body," Dawn growled out.

"That could be arranged. Grab them and let's go." Salem ordered.

"Run, Dawn! He only wants me." I yelled.

"I'm not leaving you."

When didn't have time to argue when they attacked all at once. We fought them back as hard as we could and only got a couple of good hits. They held us down on our stomachs and restrained our arms. As soon as metal touched my skin, I screamed from the intense burning.

"What the hell are you doing to her?!" Dawn screamed as she struggled under two of the guys.

"I put on some very special handcuffs for her punishment. She resisted so she is punished. But don't worry we came with two pairs and you get to match hers. Now shut it. Gag them and let's move."

After gagging and handcuffing them, they were tossed over someone's shoulder. I looked back at my car and Chloe looking at us in horror. I shook my head to tell her to stay away and watched as she got smaller and smaller. The pain in my wrists was increasing as we went. I passed out after it got unbarring. As darkness took over me, I made a promise.

Matt, Chloe. We will come back. I will make sure of that if its the last thing I do.
