We All Have That Favorite Pair of Shoes

You know the ones I'm talking about.

We All Have That Favorite Pair of Shoes

The sole. Or my SOLE belongs to shoes. Specifically my pair of low rise combat boots I bought in Zara on a whim.

I'll admit, I wear these shoes a lot. Like almost every day, to class, to parties, to work because they are so damn versatile and I love them. They match every outfit. I'm not kidding. It will be snowing, and I will choose to wear them over snow boots, which is usually a mistake, but I'm willing to make this mistake.

But this is not the first pair of shoes I fell head over heels for. Last year, I had a pair of taller gray velvet combat boots that I wore every day too. Sadly I wore them too much during the winter semester that they were ruined by the end. I had to part with that pair of shoes. They were apart of me. It was such a sad day.

I feel like your favorite pair of shoes end up becoming apart of you. You change your outfit every day, but you can wear the same shoes every day. So they become apart of your image, without them, you do not recognize yourself because they are your staple shoe. These shoes you walk miles on miles in, are you.

I know when my current favorite shoes get worn down, I can find a pair that will replace them. But they are not the same shoes that I originally found unexpectedly. I usually find my favorite pairs of shoes when I'm least expecting it, which makes me love them even more. But I'm sure I'll have a new favorite pair of shoes next year. But I'll always miss and love my old favorite pairs just as much.

If you read this all the way to the end, I'm sure you share this love for your favorite pair of shoes too. Shoes are just special.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
