A Farewell to "The Vampire Diaries"

I don't think it really has hit me yet that my favorite show of all time is ending in just a few short months. I've been watching "The Vampire Diaries" for eight years, since the first episode aired in September 2009. That means I've been watching this show for most of middle school, all of high school and half of college. So basically "The Vampire Diaries" has been a huge part of most of my life thus far.

"The Vampire Diaries" is one of those shows that is like the fastest, longest, bumpiest, twistiest rollercoaster that you have every been on. Even in just one episode so many things are happening at once. You are constantly being surprised, crazy things are constantly occurring and there is so much drama that you become addicted. This show contains so much: breakups to makeups, love triangles, deaths and revivals, doppelgangers, vampires, werewolves, the originals, witches, anchors to the other side, ghosts, sirens, passengers and so much.

It also contains the Salvatore Brothers, and if that isn't enough to get you to watch it, I don't know what is. While I still love Stefan, I highly prefer Damon. He's funny, sarcastic, charming, good looking and even though he has made a ton (I mean a ton) of mistakes in his life, he will always do whatever it takes to protect the ones he loves. If you aren't a fan of the Salvatore brothers, there is also Matt Donovan, Tyler Lockwood, Jeremy Gilbert, Alaric Saltzman, Niklaus Mikaelson, Elijah Mikaelson and even Lorenzo St. John. So many gorgeous people to look at!

If you are the type of fan to ship couples, there are a ton of them on this show! First is the classic: Elena and Stefan (Stelena). Then, there is Caroline and Damon (this one doesn't exactly count), Caroline and Matt , Caroline and Tyler, Caroline and Klaus, Caroline and Stefan, Jeremy and Vicki, Jeremy and Bonnie, Bonnie and Enzo and, my personal favorite, Elena and Damon (Delena). I would scream at the screen whenever these couples constantly break up or get with the person I didn't want them to be with. This is also one of the reasons I have seen every episode of this series from start to finish almost five times. I still cry when someone dies, even though I know what will happen and I still cry whenever my favorite couples break up.

I don't know what hurt worse, Zayn leaving One Direction, Nina Dobrev (who plays Elena) and Ian Somerhalder (who plays Damon) breaking up, or Nina Dobrev leaving "The Vampire Diaries". I mean, I still love "The Vampire Diaries" so I watched the last season. It is still pretty good but it is definitely not the same without Elena Gilbert. I still get to see my favorite boys, the Salvatore brothers, but Elena is the main character. I am beyond excited that Nina Dobrev is coming back to play Elena for the series finale, but its like a tease. You bring her back for one episode and then the series just ends! All I have to say is that Damon and Elena have to end up together and then my favorite series should have the perfect ending!

Saying goodbye to my favorite TV show that has been such a big part of my life for over eight years is so hard, and I will probably be balling during the series finale and hours after that. I love "The Vampire Diaries" and I have a feeling it won't be out of my life for good. On this show, after someone dies there is usually revival, so I have hope. This isn't goodbye, it's see you soon!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
