Every year when school starts back up so does my never-ending love for fall. I mean, it is fall semester after all, so can you really blame me? On that note, here's why the semester's namesake needs to hurry up and make its appearance.

1. This summer weather is getting to be a bit too much.

Last week, it was about 60 degrees outside every morning when I woke up for class. By the afternoon, we were back into the eighties and nineties, and I was left to wonder when I would ever see the days of true sweater weather. At this point I think summer is just taunting me.

2. Pumpkin. Spice. Everything.

Pumpkin spice lattes, cakes, cupcakes, iced coffees. I will quite happily put it on and in anything, and I mean anything. I can't think of anything else that says fall to me quite like the spice to conquer all spices, and I am beyond ready for it. As in, very, very ready.

3. Sweater weather is my favorite weather.

If it wasn't obvious before, sweater weather is my favorite weather. It's really just perfect, the perfect level of comfort, coziness, and happiness. The second I put a sweater on, I'm instantly ready to find me some hot chocolate and a nice fire to sit by because, at least in my mind, fall has arrived.

4. It's the perfect time to carve pumpkins.

I don't get to do it as often as I would like, but there's just something about carving pumpkins that really makes this girl's heart smile. It really just encapsulates the fall spirit if I do say so myself.

5. The State Fair is coming soon.

It's the State Fair. It's wonderful and fun and really just embraces the fall spirit, and all it seems to be doing right now is making me wish that it was fall even more than I already was before.

6. It's time to break out the hot chocolate.

I love, love, love hot chocolate. Not as much as pumpkin spice (obviously), but something about it makes me think of cooler, fall weather, and even though I usually drink it throughout the year, my hot cocoa intake is going to increase ten fold once fall finally greets us with its presence.

7. Roasting marshmallows anyone?

Giphy

I know that roasting marshmallows isn't specifically a fall thing, but it's still one of my favorite things, and something about it makes me think of the season. I mean, the perfect time for a fire is when it's a little chilly, right?

8. College Football Season is upon us.

I can't lie, I didn't really care all that much for football before I came to college, but now that I'm here, I love it. Also, it makes me think of fall more than it probably should, and either way, I'm ready to go to a few games in some nice cool weather.

9. Besides just the sweaters, the wardrobe of the year has arrived.

It's the season of cute, comfy, oversized sweaters. Besides that, boots, cardigans, and everything else I love also start to make their appearance, and I couldn't be happier to break all of these items out of my closet, knock the dust off, and prepare for a beautiful season of cute clothes.

10. The weather, the leaves, and the outdoors, are really just perfect.

The leaves are beautiful and they crunch under your feet while you walk, the weather is just chilly enough for a sweater or coat, and everything about the great outdoors is beautiful, and it really makes me realize how beautiful the world we live in can be.

Whether you call it autumn or fall, it's almost here, and this girl could not be more excited. Except, could it please, please hurry up just a little?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
