6 Reasons Fall Is The Best Season Of All

Fall is such a beautiful season with the changing colors of the leaves and the wind blowing through your hair. Fall is the time before the busy, winter season. The temperature is cooler without being freezing. Fall is the time to unwind and relax all while enjoying the cute festivities around your town.

Here are some of the many reasons why it's so hard not to fall in love with fall:

1. The changing color of the leaves.

Walks around campus and downtown are made slightly more bearable when the trees start to turn those magnificent shades of yellow, red, and orange. I am lucky enough to live in an area with so many beautiful aged trees, so when this begins to happen, it truly looks like something straight out of a romantic comedy.

2. Sweater Weather

I am SO ready to break out my collection of sweaters. Dressing for the fall season is my absolute favorite, and my closet is full of sweaters to fit the cooler weather.

3. Flannels

While we are talking about fall clothing, how can I not mention the importance of flannels? These cozy shirts are perfect for dressing up simple outfits and should be a statement in everyone's wardrobes come fall.

4. Fall drinks

Fall is the perfect time to hit up your favorite local coffee spot for fun, themed drinks. The season of Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and apple cider are upon us, but my personal favorite is just a simple, hot chocolate.

5. Hayrides and pumpkin patches

Whenever fall comes around, I start to feel like a little kid again, especially with all the local festivities. My personal favorite is going to Freddy Hills Farms and taking a hayride to pick some pumpkins out with my family. Also, a perfect date idea or cute for a fall photoshoot with friends.

6. Halloween

Even at 21, I still get excited when "Halloweentown" and "Twitches" come on TV. Although I am too old to go trick-or-treating, I definitely love getting all dressed up and going out to the bars with my friends. I also really enjoy seeing all the creativity that people put into their costumes.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
