I know many people love the Star Wars series, and I think it definitely has some interesting plot points, but they were executed so poorly. Here are 26 things from A to Z that I found wrong within the Star Wars movies.
A- Anakin's irrational actions towards Padme
At the end of episode three, Anakin gets angry at Padme because he believed something was going on with her and Obi-Wan. He was only going over to the dark side to save her life, and then he goes and uses the Force choke on her. He randomly turned against Padme for no reason.
B- Ben Kenobi forgets R2-D2 & C-3PO
In episode 4, Ben Kenobi doesn't seem to remember R2-D2 and C3-PO. This is quite significant considering he spent a lot of time with the two droids and how George Lucas messed that one up I will never understand.
C- Characters are 99% male
In the first six movies, almost all of the characters are male. The one female they give us in 4-6 is Leia and she does not represent women well (considering she went back and forth between two guys with one being her brother.) Even all the characters that are not played by humans, are males. What's that all about?
D- Anakin's dad or lack thereof
Anakin's mother, Shmi, casually mentions that Anakin does not have a father. She simply woke up pregnant one day. That's all we were told. I feel like that should have been a bigger plot point discussed.
E- Empire
The emperor claimed to want power to bring peace over the galaxy, but they created not one but two death stars. How did they think that would bring peace by blowing up entire planets in the galaxy?
F- The fire that burned Anakin's body
At the end of episode three, we see how the lava catches on to Anakin's body and looks like he is on fire. He somehow magically survives that. What stopped the fire from burning his whole body? How did the fire go out? They should have shown someone saving him or putting the fire out before Darth Sidious showed up to rescue him. This seems like quite the plot hole.
G- General Grievous using 4 lightsabers & still losing
General Grievous was trained in the Jedi arts and dueled Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan had his one lightsaber while Grievous had not one, not two, not three, but four lightsabers. SOMEHOW even though he had every single advantage in the book and could have easily destroyed his opponent, Obi-Wan still destroyed him. It seems almost impossible in a regular duel to lose when you have four times as many lightsabers as your pponent.
H- Han Solo vs Greedo: Who shot first?
In episode 4, Han Solo shoots Greedo first in the cantina. In the 1997 special edition rerelease, George Lucas made it that Greedo shot first and Han retaliated. How did Han then have no sign of an injury and how could he have shot Greedo so quickly? George Lucas didn't really help the viewers understand that scene.
I- Imperial Army...who trained them?
Have you ever noticed how when Han, Luke and Leia were trying to handle the death star mission, the Stormtroopers never managed to shoot any of them. There would be ten of them chasing after the three and never hit any of them? How is that possible? Are they just trained poorly?
J- Jar Jar Binks
He is one of the most hated characters in the series. I don't think he added that comic relief aspect that George Lucas was aiming towards.
K- Obi-Wan Kenobi's alias is Ben
Why would he go under the alias "Ben" but keep his last name Kenobi? Why wouldn't he change his name completely? It's almost like he wanted someone to recognize him.
L- Luke and Leia's relationship
This was beyond disgusting to me and the most shocking reveal from the series. Sure, finding out Darth Vader is Luke's father was interesting, but this reveal was revolting. Luke had a crush on his sister and they kissed. Then once Luke tells Leia they are siblings, she tells him she always had a feeling. WHAT?! You mean she had a feeling they were brother and sister and still made out with him? She's gross. George Lucas, what were you thinking when you wrote this?
M- Mark Hamill
There's not much to say besides that he is an awful actor and it didn't help that he played a character who came off as moronic at times. I think most of the cast were not the greatest actors and actresses. The only good actor from episodes one through six was Hayden Christensen who portrayed Anakin Skywalker.
N- Newborn remembers her mother she never met…
Leia tells Luke that she remembers her mother being beautiful, kind yet sad. The issue here is that we know that Padme is her mother and she died after she gave birth to Luke and Leia so how could she have known what her mother was like?
O- Obi-Wan Kenobi's lack of strength to end Anakin
He could have ended Darth Vader right then and there when he had the chance. Instead he just took off his legs. I know he said Anakin was like a brother to him, but Darth Vader brought so much evil to the world. At that point, Obi-Wan should have put his feelings aside like he was taught to do and kill Darth Vader. Darth Vader had no problem killing him.
P- Padme's death
Anakin chokes Padme, but Padme is still alive. She even gives birth to twins and she is still fine. So if she didn't die from being choked or from childbirth, then what did she die of? She just gave up on life because Anakin turned evil? That still doesn't make sense because her last words to Obi-Wan Kenobi was that she knows there is still good in Anakin. There was no reason for her to die.
Q- Qui-Gon Jinn's death
Why does Qui-Gon Jinn die so easily by Darth Maul? He was supposed to be one of the most powerful Jedi of the council. His death didn't seem fitting. He was killed so easily and quickly. If his character had to die, I think he deserved a more honorable death and not just some simple lightsaber battle.
R- R2-D2's screams
The robot can't talk, but he sure can scream and he does scream quite often. Not that big of a deal, but if he has the ability to scream why can't he speak?
S- Sabé - Are we sure that's not Natalie Portman?
Natalie Portman plays Padme, but Sabé is played by Keira Knightley. The two actresses do look VERY similar, but I swear that both characters looked exactly like Natalie Portman. I know the two look alike, but I didn't know they looked like twins.
T- Tatooine
if they wanted to keep Luke and Leia away from Vader, why keep Luke on the same planet that Vader is from? Luke was also given to Darth Vader's step brother. Not really a good hiding spot.
U- Understanding the force
What exactly are the rules of the force? I feel like the rules are never truly stated. Sometimes it seems like it is something within a person's blood or it is an energy field. Sometimes when characters are in sticky situations they don't use the force when they have the ability to. Does Leia have the ability to use the force because of the family she comes from? The force is such a big part of the series but it is never clearly explained.
V- Vader is hyped up to be this evil villain, butttt what did he do?
In episodes 4-6, Vader is BARELY shown, yet he is so feared. They never show him do anything that bad. As Anakin, we see how he killed a whole village and killed many others. Besides that, why is Vader hyped up to be this powerful and evil lord when we never see any evidence of that.
W- Walking stick for Yoda
Yoda has a walking stick which you would imagine a 900 year old would need. BUT you also see Yoda dueling and doing flips and tricks in the air. How does that little green guy do gymnastics and fight evil, yet he can't walk?
X- EXcuse me, Yoda, why do you talk like that?
He's been around for 900 years and he still can't speak correctly? If his species talks like that, there is no proof of that, but you would think after a while he would learn to not talk backwards. "Makes sense that does not."
Y- Y Chromosome… Dad?
Darth Sidious tells Anakin that someone created human life using midichlorian. Since his mother said she woke up pregnant one day, Anakin might have been created this way which could explain how he has no father, but this is never explained anymore. Does that mean his creator would be his father and who is that person? I guess we'll never know...
Z- Zapping powers
Why can some of the characters "zap" other people. We have seen a few that use Yoda, Dooku and Palpatine. They never explain what it is and why some people can use it. Is it just the force being used or is it something only a powerful Sith or Jedi can use?
