This past week, I went to my first concert in over a year and I was reminded why I love live music so much.

Music becomes a part of any person. It makes you feel a full spectrum of emotions. It can relate to any part of life. It makes you feel like you aren't alone.

Seeing an artist you love perform their art live is a feeling incomparable to anything else. I love watching someone perform something they are passionate about and concerts are the perfect opportunity to see this.

Another thing I love about seeing live music is the community. You are surrounded by people who love the performing artist as much as you do. Everyone is there for the same reason as you are and you can really feel the sense of togetherness. It's a nice feeling.

Concerts are usually a couple hours long and for that time, you are completely immersed in sensory experiences. That time away from the outside world is unlike any other. Nothing is wrong and nothing will ever be wrong.

When I leave a concert, I feel refreshed. Inspired. Energized.

One friend of mine said she had a really bad day consisting of a huge panic attack and constant anxiety. That night, she saw Ariana Grande in concert and suddenly, she felt like everything was going to be okay. That is the power of live music.

I know concert tickets can get expensive, but I believe that spending that money, when you can, is completely worth it. I would rather buy tickets to a couple concerts than buy the newest iPhone or whatever other expensive thing is popular. I would rather pay for the experience of live music and the emotions that come with it.

I strongly encourage everyone to go to at least one concert a year. If you can afford more, go for it. But it is worthwhile to get to a concert annually and experience those feelings that are unlike any other.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
