Ever Since the film was released on January 4th, 2019, I HAVE BEEN EAGER TO SEE IT! This past Sunday, I did just that.

From the outside looking in, I sort of felt this film would be very similar to the Jigsaw franchise. In case you haven't noticed, I am a HUGE horror/thriller film fan! While they have a few similarities, I personally feel that they are very different in many areas of the plot line.

While watching this thriller, I found myself taking a lot of mental notes. Paying attention to detail is very important, not only for games and puzzles but real life as well. The smallest details could honestly save your life; and if you ignore them, it could lead to your downfall. For example, a clue that includes the number 5 could be apart of a code that unlocks a door. A clue that mentions the color yellow could very well be your life-saving escape!

SPOILER ALERT: The individuals who were competing in the escape room received an invitation through the mail, but failed to research the location to see if it was legit.

For me, this was a huge mistake on their part. You should never attend an event without knowing what all will occur, especially if you have never experienced it before. Like anything violent and sinister in life, no one deserves to be held against their will, kidnapped, tortured, etc. However, you MUST make smart decisions on your own to ensure your safety. Watch your surroundings, ask questions, and research!

Besides the major lessons I learned, the film itself was very fun and entertaining to watch. My friends and I were never bored, and I stayed on the edge my seat for the majority of it! I can't help but to put myself in the shoes of the actors and apply it to real life.
