Eight Scariest Halloween Movies

It’s that time of the year, everyone. Halloween is just around the corner, and you know what that means… it’s time for scary movies! There is nothing better than curling up and watching a scary movie or two during the Halloween season. Here is a list of eight movies that you can’t miss and that will leave you scared throughout the night!

8. Dawn of the Dead
What is better than zombies chasing humans? In this epic horror movie, humans are killed left and right by zombies and have to hide in a shopping mall to attempt to survive. You don’t want to miss this one!

7. Paranormal Activity
This movie is about a couple, Katie and Micah, and their haunted home. There is a supernatural occurrence in their home. This movie is especially creepy because of the style of film. There are cameras set up around the house and it makes the footage seem very real. From flickering lights to blood-stained clothing, this is a Halloween must.

6. The Sixth Sense
“I see dead people” has to be one of the most quoted movie lines of all time. "The Sixth Sense" is about a young, troubled boy who can talk to dead people, and a psychologist who tries to help him. This movie was the second-highest grossing film of 1999, so obviously you will want to catch this one on a spooky night this month.

5. The Shining
Jack Torrance takes a job as a caretaker at a hotel. He is a recovering alcoholic and has a young son and wife. There is a supernatural being in the hotel that inhabits Jack. Because of this he makes horrific decisions. Trust me, this one you can’t miss.

4. Night of the Living Dead
What starts out as an innocent trip to Pennsylvania to visit a gravestone turns into a disaster. Barbara and her brother Johnny visit their father’s grave, but Barbara gets attacked by a man and Johnny dies saving her. Barbara runs to an old farmhouse with Ben, a man she finds on the way. It turns out this place also houses other frightened people running from zombies. Give it a watch and you won’t be disappointed!

3. The Exorcist
What is scarier than being possessed by the devil? This movie deals with a 12 year-old girl being possessed and her mother attempting to bring her back to the real world through an exorcism directed by two priests. This is one of the creepiest movies to date.

2. Jaws
This thriller directed by Steven Spielberg is a classic. Jaws is about a humongous, man-eating shark that attacks humans on the beach on Amity Island, a fictional resort town. Marine biologists attempt to hunt the shark down in order to stop the killings. This movie was the highest growing movie in history until "Star Wars" was released. This classic thriller is a must-see this Halloween season!

1. Halloween
The original film, released in 1978, is about a six-year-old boy who murders his sister on Halloween night. He then is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, but escapes five years later, and he immediately begins stalking a young girl. This horror movie is perfect for a scary Halloween night, and I highly recommend it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
