1. Vodka Cranberry w/Lime
-2 shots of Vodka
-Cranberry to taste
-Lime wedge squeezed in and drink stirred
This is what I call a “mom” drink. Even though it’s so simple, the vodka is drowned out by the taste of the cranberry juice and squeezed lime. Therefore, easy to throw back and you don’t deal with the prices of mixed liquor drinks. Almost any bar you go to will have cranberry juice and lime wedges, therefore it makes it easy to order and guaranteed happiness.
2. The Classic Screwdriver-with some fizz
-2 shots of vodka
-Orange juice to taste
-Sprite if desired (this makes it fizzy and adds a little more flavor other than just orange)
This is a classic drink and again, easy for any bar to make. Throughout the nights when I was in bars, I found that Sprite is a nice addition to add more flavor than pure orange. Give it a shot! (No pun intended)
3. A nice, cold, Mic Ultra
If you are a beer person, or really even if you’re not, Michelob Ultra is a great mild beer that has very few calories (a plus!). If you are at a frat party or on the beach, Michelob is popular and easy to find. Another plus, it’s usually one of the cheaper beers on the menu.
4. Sex on the Beach-duh!
-2 shots of vodka
-1 shot of peach schnapps
-Add orange and pineapple juice to taste
Even though I am not a fruity drink person, I can say I enjoy Sex on the Beach(!). It has the tropical flavors; every bartender knows the recipe and I’ve heard that a lot of frat boys know how to make it too!
5. Blue Lagoon
-2 shots of vodka
-1 shot of Blue Curacao
-Lemonade to taste
I have to say, I had no idea what Blue Curacao was until I tried this drink and I have been hooked ever since. If you like orange juice, you’ll like this. You can’t taste the alcohol in it (dangerous, but a plus), and it has a tangy flavor that goes with orange juice and lemonade. Even though it wasn’t summer, I’m not gonna lie, it got me through finals.
