The life Of being the baby in the family

All the examples of why being the baby in the family is the best thing ever

The life Of being the baby in the family
Enrique Caro

I am the baby of the family. Everyone says that I have an advantage over my siblings for being the little one in the family. In my defense, I was told that my dad only wanted two kids, so the fact that I'm here writing this right now shows you that I had no say in being born last. Anyways, my aunts and uncles agree that I get away with a lot just for being the baby. And I will admit that they are indeed right.

I will say that I have gotten away with getting things done my way or in a new way. For example, my brother and sister had to use slide up phones that were not touch screen, at the beginning of their high school careers. When I wanted my first phone I was still in sixth grade while they had to wait until high school. They got basic slide up phones while I got my own touch screen slide-up phone, making my dad start another line for me on another carrier service just because it's what I wanted. My brother, still to this day, thinks I have all the privilege in the world. Another example would be that I had three iphones throughout the course of my high school career.

Another example of my 'privilege' included not ever taking the bus to school. My siblings had to wake up extra early just to make it on time to catch the bus, while I was given my own car, when I had my license of course, to get to school. After they didn't have to take the bus anymore they got a car that they had to share between each other. My siblings say that when I get in trouble it's not as bad as it used to be when they got in trouble for the same exact things.

The best example of using my privilege would be that I was allowed to go on a road trip with some of my closest friends to California while my brother couldn't even go to Sedona for a night.

I honestly just think its because I have shown my parents that I can be trusted and that I am old enough and as well as mature enough to venture into my own journeys. I don't tell lies that often especially in delicate situations where it means the most to tell the truth. My siblings are just mad that my parents love me, they even tend to say that I'm the favorite, but that's a whole other story.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
