Dogs are the purest thing to have ever roamed this earth. Sometimes, all you want to do is go home and pet your dog. Whenever we see a dog in public, the first thing we want to do is pet it. Don't be afraid to admit that you're obsessed with dogs because let's be real, who isn't? Sometimes, your dog's company is the only company you'll ever need. Because they are better than people.

1. They're always down to cuddle

Movie night in? Grab a blanket and a snuggle buddy and relax.

2. They don't talk back

If they mistook your kitchen floor for a place to use the bathroom, they understand they messed up. They walk away with their head and tail down, more disappointed in themselves than you are at all.

3. They give the best greeting when you come home

It is as if their day is made just by you walking through the door. Best entrance ever! It's sure to make you feel good. Having a bad day or feel unwanted? Just go home and greet your dog.

4. There is no need for a doorbell

The slightest noise outside will alert your dog. I don't know about you but if the neighbor slams their car door loudly, my dog thinks we're having company over. I don't even realize we have a doorbell because my dog barks over it.

5. They love you immensely

Or maybe you love them immensely. Either way, dogs are great and we should have more of them.

6. They are so cute

They make your heart absolutely melt.

7. They are interesting creatures of nature

Sometimes they do strange things and you question why. Or if you're anything like me, you take a Snapchat of it and send it to your friends because you are super proud of your dog for being the way he is!

8. They always listen

Want to rant about the drama of your life? Your dog is ready to listen. Got a secret to tell? Your dog won't tell anyone. The best form of getting things off your chest is ranting to your dog.

9. There's no need for an alarm clock

Dogs are always ready to start the day bright and early. And you can't be mad waking up to that face every morning.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
