On Thursday night I waited up anxiously for Taylor Swift to release her newest song. I have to say, it's not what I was expecting-- scratch that-- in light of recent events, I was expecting it. However, it's not what I was hoping for. I know that as a random college girl, I have very little right to comment or question Taylor's decisions, but as a hard core Swiftie, I'm disappointed. I'm not saying it's not good-- because it is. It's just not my favorite.

Taylor's newest song, "Look What You Made Me Do," is catchy and it's already an instant hit. Honestly, some of the lyrics I do actually like, but I don't love it. She doesn't display herself in the best light, and I'm not a fan of this "New Taylor Swift." In fact, I'm wondering why the "Old Taylor Swift" is "dead." Overall, this song doesn't paint the best picture of her.

"The world moves on, another day, another drama, drama

But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma

And then the world moves on, but one thing's for sure

Maybe I got mine, but you'll all get yours" - "Look What You Made Me Do"

This new TS is hostile, angry, bitter, and petty. Perhaps I'm too forgiving and naive to relate to this song, but it's just not something I can get behind. I've never said that about a Taylor Swift song in my life. Most of her songs are completely relatable and actually really well written. I will say that the music video for the new song is on a whole different level-- take with that what you will. This song just isn't my favorite.

Taylor is an absolutely incredible song writer. That is why I love her music. She has an enormous gift for translating raw emotions into words. I can't tell you how many of her songs give me goosebumps. The best thing about Taylor's music is that the lyrics are always so raw and beautiful, but this song just doesn't do it for me. I'm not saying I don't like it, I'm just saying that this song pales in comparison to her best work, like "All Too Well," "Wildest Dreams," and "Style."

The entire concept of this song seems to be that Taylor is incapable of moving on from conflict. It's not even that she's heartbroken, she's just angry to be angry. What ever happened to "shaking it off?" While she attempts to mock her reputation in the music video, it really just comes off like she's calling out other people for mocking her. This song seems like nothing more than a publicity stunt, a cry for attention, and an attempt at revenge. It just seems to confirm everything her haters have ever said about her, and I don't like that because I really do love Taylor Swift. I think she's a phenomenal songwriter, but this song isn't phenomenal.

I am disappointed in Taylor Swift. While she has had angry songs in the past, this one just takes it to a whole new level. It's not clever. It's just petty. I don't want to be the kind of person that dwells on the people who've wronged me. I want to move passed that. I wish Taylor could too. This is a level that I cannot get on, nor do I ever in a million years want to. I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this, but if this "New Taylor Swift" is going to be hateful and angry, I want the old one back... like ASAP before her new album comes out.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
