A Definitive Ranking of The Best Fast Food Joints

Being a college student, I like to think that I know a thing or two when it comes to fast food. Even though my body hates me for it, and my wallet, it’s like a bad habit I can’t seem to kick. More than one night a week I find myself planning out which fast food place I’m going to hit up on my way home. Here is my personal ranking of the fast food joints that should sound familiar to most:

1.Whataburger

I’m new to the whole Whataburger fad, but let me tell you, I was quick to jump on board. From their Spicy Ketchup to their Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits, this place has my heart forever

2. Taco Bell

Taco Bell’s food is sometimes questionable on whether or not it even passes health code, but doesn’t stop your crew from going there at three A.M. when maybe you all have had too much to drink. Whenever you’re out at night and anyone suggests to getting T-Bell, absolutely no one is going to protest.

3. Panda Express

Whoever thought to make Chinese food in the form of a fast food restaurant can now call themselves my new best friend. It’s just pure genius end of story.

4. McDonald’s

If Fast Food were a sorority, than McDonald’s is equivalent to the founders of the sorority. Even if McDonald’s isn’t your favorite fast food place, you still have to admit that they are the face of fast food, there’s just no doubting it. I’m literally eating McDonald’s while writing this article, which I find very fitting.

5. Slim Chicken’s

Out of all the Chicken restaurants, Slim’s is definitely the best in my opinion. Their fried pickles are to die for, and their Slim’s Sauce gets better every time I go.

6. Sonic

Even though Sonic’s food isn’t amazing, they make up for it in their drink selection. They really are “The Ultimate Drink Stop.” There’s so many different combinations you can make, and you’re always finding out about new combos, I’m talking to you Raspberry Sprite, that you feel like Sonic will forever be your home.

7. Zaxby’s

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Zaxby’s is “It’s alright,” I have yet to have an experience there that has made me fall into the fad. And yet I still continue to go back there in hopes that this will be the time that I fall in love and forever claim myself as a “Zaxby’s Girl.”

8. Chick-fil-a

It seems as if Chick-fil-a is coming out of its 15 minutes of fame. A couple years ago if you told anyone that you hated Chick-fil-a most likely they would dramatically gasp and give you this horrified look. Now no one really suggests to go there anymore.

9. Arby’s

Even though Arby’s is one of my personal favorite fast food restaurants, I can see why most people don’t agree. Maybe it’s because when I go there I always get the same thing and it’s not one of their most popular things on the menu. But just getting their curly fries is enough for me, those things are hand battered and fried but Jesus himself.

10. Burger King

Does anyone go here for anything but Chicken Fries?

Well there you have it, my unpopular and probably unwanted opinion on which fast food joints you’ll be cursing yourself for later.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
