New Year's Eve is one of the best nights of the year. Dressing up, going all out with your friends and attending the hottest parties are just some of the reasons I'm excited to celebrate the event. Here's a look at the festivities, as told by "Friends".

1. Waking up and realizing it’s December 31st

Probably the happiest moment of New Year's is waking up and realizing that in a few short hours you'll be ringing in another year.

2. Resting up during the day

Let's face it, you need all the energy you can muster up for the long night ahead, so you may as well spend the day resting and conserving your energy.

3. Getting dolled up for the night

You rest up until the last minute possible before needing to get ready, because if you leave it up to the last second, you may make some questionable decisions.

4. Choosing the most festive outfit

Everyone knows New Year's is all about the outfit you wear, so do your best and choose the most appropriate outfit for the evening.

5. Taking a million photos with your friends

The night doesn't begin at the club, it begins at your apartment while you pregame. While you're busy drinking and getting a head start, you make sure to take enough photos while you're still sober enough to remember it all!

6. Finally, leaving to party your hearts out

After a sufficient amount of pregaming and amassing a plethora of photos on your phones, you finally leave for the parties.

7. Drinks, drinks and more drinks

NYE wouldn't be complete without alcohol.

8. Hitting on every cute guy if you're single

NYE is the perfect time to meet someone for a night of good fun, so you strike up a conversation with every cute guy you meet, just in case. You may even try out Joey's catchphrase if you're feeling confident enough.

9. Cozying up to your S.O. if you've got one

If you're lucky enough to have an S.O. on NYE, then you'll likely spend the night at the club dancing with them and cozy up to them the more you drink. NYE can be romantic, especially as you ring in a new year and new possibilities with your S.O.

10. Dancing your heart out

With some, or a lot, of liquid courage in you, dancing becomes second nature and you don't care if you embarrass yourself because it's your night to have fun!

11. Trying to keep track of your drinks

Between dancing, taking more photos with your friends at the parties and having a good time, it'll become increasingly challenging to keep track of your drink count.

12. When your friends ask how you're doing

After hours on your feet, dancing and drinking, you may start to feel the effects of the night set in. You're not about to give up though, so you power through!

13. Regretting the outfit and/or shoes you chose to wear

You may have thought the super tight, super short dress was a good idea but needing to pull it down every two seconds has proven you wrong. Or you may have thought your new heels were a good idea until you start to feel the blisters forming on your feet.

14. Getting too drunk by midnight

Starting early on seems like a good way to get ahead of the crowd, but if you're not careful it may come to haunt you later on.

15. Just wanting the night to end

Between uncomfortable wardrobe choices and drinking so much you feel like you're going to be sick, there will be multiple moments you'll want the night to end ASAP.

16. Hopefully getting a midnight kiss

After hitting on the cute guys, you hope one of them sticks by your side to be your midnight kiss. This, of course, isn't a problem if you're ringing in the new year with your S.O.

17. Ringing in the new year with your friends

Spending the night with your closest friends makes the stress of finding someone to kiss, being too drunk for your own good, and feeling uncomfortable in what you chose to wear all worth it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
