Thanksgiving is over which means it's time to get ready for Christmas! This can be kind of hard when you're a college kid and living in a dorm the size of a shoebox. That is no excuse not to decorate. This doesn't have to be an expensive or crazy thing, it can just be something simple and fun to celebrate Christmas. Here are some quick, easy, and inexpensive ways to decorate your dorm. Trust me, it's so fun and you'll love the way your room looks after!

Lights

Christmas lights are simple cute way to decorate your room. You can either go full out Christmas and buy colorful lights or you can keep it classy and just get some soft yellow lights. Both of these will immediately give your room a little Christmas spirit. You can even get the yellow icicle ones - but that's only if you're really feeling it.

Tree

Once you've got the lights up, you've gotta get a tree. It can be a tiny one that is only a foot tall, or even a four foot tall one like I have (well I have two but ya know). These trees can be set on top of a dresser or even on the ground if you have room. They are small but they really bring the room together. You can even buy fun ornaments that fit your personality! Then, once you start getting Christmas gifts for your friends, you can wrap them and put them under the tree. It may sound cliche but it really brings out the holiday spirit in the room.

Window decorations

You can go to Target and get the little sticky ones. They add a nice touch without taking up too much space.

The nice thing about all these things is you can continue to use them for years to come! Especially in your apartment junior and senior year. Another perk: you will get a lot of compliments from people visiting you in your room. Now, if you're not really that into Christmas, just hang up some lights. It just makes you room so much more cozy and warm. Well, I think my work is done here. I am gonna go make some hot chocolate and watch a Christma movie. Enjoy your decorating!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
