Every state has their own creepy stories, but Pennsylvania has come of the creepiest. I may be partial because I live here, but there is so many to choose from it was hard to narrow down. So together I came up with the five creepiest stories, and urban legends, that I have heard of from many friends.

1. Boy in a Box

In Philadelphia, an unidentified, boy's body was found in a box. This boy was naked, battered, and a blunt force trauma wound. He was between ages 3-7, and he died from the trauma.

2. Seven Gates of Hell

In York there is two creepy legends about these gates. The first says that there were a fire that broke out at an isolated asylum, and the living escaped patients were trapped in these seven gates. The second is that a doctor built the seven gates along the property. Both legends state that only the first gate is visible during the day, but he other six appear at night. Stories say that nobody has ever made it past gate five, and that gate seven is the gate to hell.

3. The Downingtown Gates of Hell

After shooting his entire family, a father hung those corpses on the red iron gates along the front of the property. The house has been demolished after many years of Satanic cults taking use of this abandoned property. Rumor has it that if you walk around the property that you get chased away by hell house.

4. Downingtown Twin Tunnels

A man was fishing in the creek that flows through one of the tunnels when he came upon a suitcase dumped down there. The suitcase contained only a woman's torso. The identities of both the victim, and murderer, are unknown til this day. Not many people know about this story because it happened during the trial of OJ Simpson.

5. Heilbron Manor

This house has a dark history. All seven members of the first family to live in the house perished in a fire. The home was rebuilt, and it was used as a station on the underground railroad. During that time the daughter of the family living in the house was lured outside by one of the passing slaves. He lured her outside by telling her that her pony was sick, raped, killed, and then dumped in a creek. The other passing by slaves lynched him in a tree outside the house for what he did. The mother then hung herself on the third floor, and can still be heard walking up there. The lynched slave can still be heard walking up the driveway. One rumor says that if you drive around the curve in front of the house the ghost of the little girl can be seen sitting in the back seat of the car.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
