I am a major country music fan; from the traditional artists, such as Glen Campbell & Patsy Cline, to the most recent artists like Brett Eldredge & Lauren Alaina.
Of course, I favor the more classic country rather than the newer stuff but all of it still shares the same values;I love that this genre is able to tell stories and be relatable.
Here are 15 of my favorite songs that are pretty much all over the spectrum - all are promised to make you feel some type of way: affectionate, sad, motivated, moved, joyful, and even a little revengeful.
1. Forever and Ever, Amen - Randy Travis
I love this song because it's reassuring the love that he will always have for this women. As long as the things he talks about in the song always remain, he will remain faithful; forever and ever, amen... Every women's dream!
2. Beat of The Music - Brett Eldredge
This song makes me want to dance every time I hear it. It definitely gives me the feels, making me want to go to Mexico and fall in love with a stranger for a few days (to the beat of the music of course!)
3. Any Man of Mine - Shania Twain
Every girl's anthem to be honest. We'd love to have someone that will go with the flow with every decision we change and always love our burnt dinners.
4. Harper Valley PTA - Jeannie C. Riley
This song reminds me that there will ways be worse people out there. Keep living your life the way to you want, everyone can mind their own business!
5. Hello Darlin' - Conway Twitty
Such a sad but heart warming song. There's honestly no other song out there like this one. Classic country at it's finest.
6. Neon Moon - Brooks & Dunn
This song is giving you the easy way out of any break-up but probably in the most subtle way, and I'm not even mad.
7. Austin - Black Shelton
Every time this song comes on, I get automatic goose bumps. This song is what I am talking about when I say country music tells stories... After so much time, love remains.
8. The Chair - George Strait
Well excuse me, but I think you... have found my favorite George Strait song. If anyone else were to sing this song, I would be really creeped out and uncomfortable but please, George, I wouldn't mind sitting in the seat that was never yours to begin with.
9. Die a Happy Man - Thomas Rhett
Swoon! Find me someone who will give up their dreams to be with me forever. The first few hundred times I listened to this song, my eyes watered and goose bumps were everywhere. Also, black dresses always win.
10. The Thunder Rolls - Garth Brooks
Such a strong message hidden behind the rumbling of the thunder. I kind of like to think this is the song Carrie Underwood bases all of her revenge songs after.
11. More Like Her - Miranda Lambert
There's a love/hate relationship with this song. Miranda Lambert is one of my favorites and this song rips my heart right out and I hate to think of all the women who ever compared themselves to other women because *some* men are dumb.
12. Nowhere Fast - Old Dominion
This is one of the new songs of the country genre so it does have that pop influence, but LORD! I'm obsessed with Old Dominion and equally with this song. Let's go nowhere fast.
13. I Hope You Dance - LeeAnn Womack
Whenever I think I need to be humbled, I listen to this song. As should everyone else because it will definitely give a new perspective to life.
14. Bye-Bye - Jo Dee Messina
Let's just say that I can't drive and listen to this song because I get pumped and I end up doing 60 in a 40 *Sorry dad*.. Boy, Bye.
15. Delta Dawn - Tanya Tucker
I remember singing this song on the top of my lungs when I was 6 years old because my mom had it on a tape.. Yes, a tape. It has such a mysterious message to it, and can be interpreted in many ways and I think that's why I love it so much; the older I get the message ends up changing.
