There are many things that kids do growing up, but there are some major differences between farm kids and city kids.

The kids that grow in the the fields instead of the basement always see things a bit more differently.

Here are 15 reasons you know you grew up a country kid instead of a city kid.

1. The smell of manure doesn't bother you, it actually calms you.

2. You have more than likely have forever dirt under your nails.

3. You slow down when driving past a field of cattle in a pasture.

4. Food with some special toppings (manure, hair, dirt, bugs) never truly bothered you.

5. Your own at least one hat with something do to with agriculture.

6. Laying in a truck bed as a date is equal to perfection.

7. You have husked corn for at least one summer in your life.

8. You learned how to drive farm equipment before a car.

9. You don't leave somewhere until a job is done the correct way.

10. Taking backroads to get somewhere is the only way.

11. In the summer you could be found out in a field baling hay.

12. Winter mentally killed you due to being inside for too long.

13. You would rather help a cow give birth than attend a school field trip.

14. You were never able to "walk" to a friend's house at any point of the year.

15. Your family is closer than most.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
