Concerts Prove That You Can Travel To Other Worlds

"I love hearing songs live and the positive atmosphere you get when everyone around you is singing or dancing along, and the fact that strangers are friends because we all connect on one thing."

" They make me feel more connected with a group of strangers but also free from distraction and other responsibilities since it's someone entertaining me instead of the other way around."

"I loved mine [first experience at a concert this summer] because it was Beyoncé and she puts her all into everything."

These are just a few quotes from people who described their time at a concert, whether it be their first or last, we can all agree that if the concert is everything we expected, then we can certainly relate to each of these words above.

As far as I know, I haven't heard of a word that describes a love for concerts, but experiencing that high is more than enough explanation for it.

Since this summer, I've been to three concerts: On The Run II, Arctic Monkeys, and Florence + the Machine. Each one transferring me to a completely new world in regard to their focused genre. Finding yourself connecting to the words and the people around you make you feel as if you are on top of the world, and in a way, you are.

For one night, it's just you, your friends, and a group of strangers connecting to the same beat and lyrics from some of your favorite artists. You shed the worries away from the past, present, and future, for this night that allows you to transcend your own being. And it feels fantastic.

Concerts have this ability to make you feel everything and anything all at once. Sometimes being so shock to the point that you don't even know if what you experienced was real or not, but it most definitely is.

How is it that this flood of sound can give you chills up and down your spine? How is it that even though you probably have no clue on how to sing, you feel like you are on the stage right with your favorite artists? Maybe you were able to do so or maybe even barely touch their clothing as they ran past you as fast as lighting.

It's a beauty all in itself with how concerts can connect you to humans you will never see again, but they just became some of the closest people to see you truly shed your soul right in front of them. They experienced that tone-deaf voice of yours, the sweat dripping from your body and unceremoniously touching their own, and the head bobbing all throughout the night. But guess what? They were doing the same throughout the night.

Concerts are a glorious thing to come by, and maybe you haven't gone to your first one yet, but it's highly recommended by the majority who have. It's not the safest to go out alone to a concert, maybe in the day would be best, but regardless if you can, grab that group of friends you have and treat yourself to a whole new world that you get to be a part of.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
