10 Times Colton Underwood Jumping The Fence Described College

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has seen the gif of Colton jumping over a fence on this week's episode of The Bachelor. Those that don't even watch the show are finding a million ways to use the gif to make jokes. Now that we all FINALLY got to see this truly ICONIC scene, I couldn't help but think of how this gif can be used as a meme to describe the real college struggles.

When you see your ex across the room.

An awkward encounter with uncomfortable eye contact? No thanks...gotta blast!

When you realize your book has an access code.

When you realize that your textbook has an access code, your heart sinks to the bottom. That extra price is H-E-F-T-Y.

Looking at the syllabus and seeing there will be a group project.

Group projects suck, there's no question about it so realizing it will count for a good portion of the final grade? Yeah, no thanks...

Going to park in an employee space, but the parking police come.

Parking is annoying on any college campus, I get that employees get priority over students, but especially when the U.S. feels like a tundra right now, sometimes driving to class seems like the move because Uber costs add up. It is so annoying when you finally find the perfect spot but see that person with the parking ticket gun walking around so you gotta dip.

Final paper instead of final exam.

OK, I can't be the only one that HATES big papers. I would rather do one huge cumulative exam than a final paper. My motivation to write papers in proper MLA format is in the negatives.

When you're at a party and the cops come.

See ya! Every man and woman for themselves.

Realizing an assignment is due at midnight that you didn't start.

Nothing is worse than realizing you have a quiz, paper, project...any kind of assignment that is due at midnight that you completely forgot about. Hopefully, it isn't 11 P.M. when you notice.

Looking at your bank account.

Checking your most recent bank statement and realizing just how much you spend on food will forever be a struggle.

When your professor tells you attendance is worth 5% of your grade.

Not that I condone skipping class but come on...

Seeing that creep from Tinder at a party.

Please don't let them see me...

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

Yes, the math major is doing a math-related post. What are the odds? I'll have to calculate it later. Many people have probably learned about the Fibonacci sequence in their high school math classes. However, I thought I would just refresh everyone's memories and show how math can be beautiful and apply to physical things everywhere around us with stunning examples.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
