To All The College Students That Have Lost Hope At This Point In Your College Careers

So fun they said. Best years of your life they said. Lies. If you need some motivation to stay in school, here it is!

You're in too far at this point

You've done too much. You're in too deep. Remember, there's no refunds on college. You can't waste thousands upon thousands of dollars and not get a degree out of it.

You're almost done with CORE classes

For me at least, my college has a ridiculous core curriculum requirement. I've pretty much only taken five classes that pertain to my major and minor at this point and I'm halfway through my junior year. Ridiculous. I know I signed up for this and it'll make me a more well-rounded person and scholar, but it's freaking annoying at this point!

I keep telling myself that thankfully, this is almost over and I soon will be able to take all classes that I actually want to be taking. Thank god!

You are a strong powerful individual and you can handle anything

I keep telling myself that I've already made it through so many ridiculous professors and semesters, that at this point, if I've handled everything so far - of course I can get through this and finish college.

Stripping is a valid backup plan

We all joke about dropping out of school and becoming a stripper. While we all joke, it is actually a very valid backup plan. So at least we all have that, if all else fails. How's that for reassurance.

Everything happens for a reason

Yes there are times where I very aggressively question why I ever went to college in the first place. I am a very firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that even though life is a very intense roller coaster that I did not sign up to go on and am definitely too short to be on, it all works out for the best in the end.

Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
