This past Friday night one of my roommates, Abby, and I decided that we wanted to go to target. We looked up how far it was from our dorm and it said 2 miles. We both looked at each other and said you know what yeah let's walk. So at 8 pm on a Friday night, we started our trek to Target. It took us 45 minutes to get there and we were so tired. It didn't take us long to decide that we were never doing that again. We had to suck it up and figure out the bus system.

The next day we didn't have anything going on so naturally, we decided on thrifting. There's a Goodwill about 4 miles from our dorm and our destination was set. We recruited another one of our roommates, Grace, to come on the adventure. Now none of us have ever ridden public transit before so already the odds were not in our favor. We walked to the bus station and being 3 inexperienced college girls we just got on a random bus confident it would take us where we needed to go. After it started moving, I checked the transit map and it turns out we were going the wrong way because we had read the map wrong. We got off the bus on the opposite side of town at a Walmart to try to get our bearings and figure out where we were.

By this time we had wasted 30 minutes on the wrong bus and didn't know where we were.

I downloaded the bus app and put in our location. We got back to the bus station where we started and had to wait 20 minutes for the right bus. I took us a long time but we finally made it to Goodwill. It was a good trip that made up for the hour and a half it took to get there. It was around dinner time by now and we were getting pretty hangry. All the food places looked really close to us on my phone but when I looked up I realized that they were all on the other side of the highway. Obviously, we couldn't just run across the highway and there were no crosswalks. Getting frustrated, we ended up walking a while until we found one. Finally across the street, we found a Chipotle. It was a great reward for the end of a long day. It took us a while to find a stop and the right bus to take us home but we eventually found it.

Even though that day was very stressful, I'm so happy it happened. It brought all of us closer together and we did what we set out to do. Together, we conquered the bus.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
