College Budget Versions Of Your Favorite Stores

When you go to the mall, you are probably there to find cute clothes at reasonable prices. That’s easier said than done when you walk into one of your favorite stores and everything is just too overpriced. Here are some of my favorite alternative places to shop other than those expensive stores.

If you love Urban Outfitters: Try Forever 21

Everyone loves Urban Outfitters for their vintage and hipster clothes, shoes, and home accessories. However, their prices are not realistic for shopping on a regular basis. Forever 21 is one of the best places to go shopping if you're looking for a big selection of cute clothes, shoes, and accessories at cheap prices.

If you love Free People: Try American Eagle Outfitters

Free People is a go-to store for those who love the boho look. The flowing, effortless clothes are pricey, but luckily American Eagle Outfitters has clothes with the same vibes. There are plenty of embroidered, crocheted, and lace pieces for a lower price at American Eagle.

If you love Brandy Melville: Try "Don't Ask Why" (American Eagle Outfitters)

"Don’t Ask Why" is a new collection from American Eagle Outfitters that has a very similar styles of clothing to Brandy Melville. American Eagle has even tried out the same one-size-fits-most clothing as Brandy. The only way to really tell these two brands apart is by looking at the prices. Almost identical pieces are much cheaper to get in American Eagle stores or online in the "Don't Ask Why" section.

If you love Topshop: Try H&M

Topshop is a store that always has clothes in the latest bold and fashionable trends. It might seem like the only way to wear clothes like that is to spend your whole paycheck in a store like Topshop, but H&M is a really nice alternative. Their clothes are good quality and trendy, at prices that you can definitely afford.

If you love Vineyard Vines: Try Old Navy

Vineyard Vines is probably the store that comes to mind when you see preppy clothes in pastel colors. This style of dress is popular in parts of the U.S, especially in the North East (where the brand started) and the South. You can find clothing in styles and colors similar to Vineyard Vines in Old Navy, but for much lower prices.

If you love Lululemon: Try Target

That’s right, Target has super cute clothes and the same goes for their athletic wear. Lululemon is known for its yoga and running apparel, especially their leggings that come out to almost $100. Target, on the other hand, has leggings, yoga pants, sport bras, and more work out clothes at much cheaper prices.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
