Christmas is upon us and the year just flew by. Many families will be united with their loved ones and others may enjoy the dinner of turkey, dressing and all of the other fixings. Spending time with family for the holidays is alright especially when you get to spend it with those you love that you may not see often throughout the year. It can also be difficult for the many individuals who have lost family members as well for the holidays are hard and time consuming.

From spending all day cooking the traditional feast, to traveling far and wide to spend time with family, the holidays can bring some great memories as well. Many families have lost loved ones who wish they could be here to bring in the festivities while others have spent their time catching up on their last minute Christmas shopping. Holidays are hard from all of the preparations, to setting up, to traveling and shopping and it can wear out an individual. College students that get to go home for their break are glad that the semester is over and they can't wait to be reunited with their friends and families back at home. Then there are the individuals who do not get to spend the holiday at home, that have to work, like the police departments, hospitals, nursing homes, nurses and doctors alike and though they would rather be home sometimes they just are unable to spend it with the ones they love until after their shift, which can also make it difficult for some.

However though the holidays can be fun, take the time to slow down, enjoy it and also pray for those who are unable to spend it with their families due to work, deployment or the other reasons and let them know you do appreciate them. Christmas is difficult for many, but it can also be fun as well.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
