Sometimes when people hear the word Christian they tend to have misconceptions about what the word means and what we actually stand for.

A lot of people think that Christians are not supposed to have fun but in reality, that is simply not true. Christians have a ton of fun but our definition of fun is very different than the world's view of what fun is. Our definition of fun consists of three things. Enhancing our lives, fellowship and bringing glory to God.

It is important as a christian to not do anything that will hinder our lives or our walk with God. So, yes you will not see christians at parties and many other social events. What you will see is christians going around sharing thier faith. The sharing of faith is one of the most rewarding things ever. To be able to see Jesus work in people's lives is an amazing feeling. I have no regret partaking in this activity because it will help others so much.

Fellowship is another fun thing to do. Fellowship is when you spend time with other believers. I consider this not only fun but very important as well. Fellowship is just simply hanging out. Why is this important? It is very important because it is a reminder of who you stand for. When you spend time with people who believe the same things that you do, you spend time with others your life is enriched. Not only are these people your friends but they are your brother and sisters as well. You can be sure that these people have your best interest.

Bringing glory to God is always a fun thing to do. In fact, everything that Christians do should bring glory to God. This is the best thing. God has given his all for each and every one of us. Even those who do don't believe. It is so important to give back to him. Giving glory to God can be done in many different ways. It does not have to be boring.

Christians like to have fun too! Fun is not defined by recklessness or living free. The definition of fun is partaking in something that brings you joy or happiness. I want to partake in something that will not only benefit myself but others as well!

When I was a child, I used to look forward to Memorial Day Weekend from the time I returned to school after Christmas vacation. It was the yearly benchmark announcing the end of the school year and the beginning of summer vacation. It meant I was one step closer to regattas, swim meets and tennis matches.

I remember how exciting summer was when I was a kid. I would just be eagerly waiting for school to end so that I could fly to some exotic location with my family for the summer. Or hang out with my friends every day. Or just lay around in bed or read, paint, draw, basically do whatever.
