I've been on the search for something new lately. Something that was raw and unnerving yet gave me the desire to dance around my room or speed on the highway with the sunroof down.

Chousand's self-titled debut album did just that and more. I've never been immediately hooked onto a group and their work. Is this the equivalent of falling in love?

The pop-punk group released two singles earlier in the year, "D.O.M." and "Subaru" that made their appearance on the album. They deliver the edgy musical elements we all know and love while providing a remarkable narrative that instantly leaves you hooked to each song.

If you're a fan of Moose Blood, Sorority Noise, etc. you will be head over heels with this group.

Things this album makes me want to do: smoke cigarettes, spray paint a random brick wall, go to a house party, laugh with my friends in a Taco Bell parking lot, jump up and down at a music festival of my choice until I pass out.

Those are awfully specific and maybe a little too ~edgy but the aura rings true. It has subconsciously become the anthem of the summer adventures that I want to have.

Then when the mood has to slow down and you suddenly find that it's 3 a.m. you can play "Beautiful Morning" and find yourself grinning from ear to ear.

Cue the cheesy motivational speech.

There are certain songs that pump you up, sure. And there are songs that make you cry in the middle of the afternoon even though your life is perfectly okay-ish.

Then there are songs that seem to light up a different part of you that you didn't know existed. It's like coming home to an old friend that you didn't realize you missed.

It's comforting and exhilarating in every sense of the phrase.

Chousand has easily become one of my favorite pop-punk bands. Did I also mention that they're fans of CupcakKe? I need that collab as soon as possible.

Fun fact: in one of their EP's released in 2015, they have a song titled "Steak & Titties." If that isn't pure lyrical genus, I don't know what is.

In the meantime, I'll be listening to this album on repeat until I get sick of it and waiting to see when they'll be blessing me with tour dates.

You can listen and download their album here.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
