Here's my answer to the most dramatic debate my friends and I have: Chipotle or Moe's?
ChipotleChipotle has a few great things, and a few really crappy things going for their brand. A Chipotle super pro is that their meats never look like they've been sitting there for hours, especially the steak. It always looks exactly how a medium rare piece of meat should look. Not too well done and not too undone
Another pro is that their chips have extra salt and a hint of lime. Their chips are banging.
However, their rice always looks dry as heck. It looks like that stuff has been sitting for hours. They also had a major E. Coli outbreak.
Another con is that salsa is extra money when you get it with the chips. When you get the salsa on your burrito, it doesn't cost any extra money. Doesn't make much sense then, huh?
Moe's
Who doesn't love hearing "Welcome to Moe's" as they're ready to get their favorite item? Let's talk about all the benefits of going to Moe's instead of Chipotle.
First thing is first: the menu is like 100 times bigger. You have the option of tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, nachos, or a stacker. Their burritos even have different sizes!
Moe's also has amazing queso. Chipotle attempted at queso, but theirs just came out absolutely awful. Moe's also has a free salsa bar, so not only can you get salsa for free, but they also have like ten different flavors.
To top it off, Moe's gives you free chips with every meal purchase. FREE salsa and FREE chips. Every. Single. Time.
A downside to Moe's is that their meats are always overcooked. The steak doesn't even compare to Chipotle's and looks like it's been sitting for a while. Moe's also doesn't have as many people working as Chipotle does, so there is almost always a line.
Also, a downside for me is that an ex boo works at my local Moe's and almost always ends up serving me.
The Final Decision
MOE'S. The answer is always MOE'S. When there's a choice between Moe's and Chipotle, always choose Moe's. Moe's has better options, better queso, free salsa, and free chips. It's definitley an 8/10 for me.
