Let’s face it, there are a TON of options food-wise in Raleigh. A lot are a little bit out of the college budget, but there are also some that are great options and on the cheaper end. If you can’t decide where to eat, like me 99.9 percent of the time, there are some good Raleigh options near NC State's campus for your college budget and not the normal fast food.

1. Bojangles

I feel like this is a given, but it’s a game day classic and really, an everyday classic. Go get yourself a Boberry and supremes, enjoy the quickness of the Western location, and thank me later.

2. Sushi Nine

This spot just reopened, and it's fantastic. Loved by all who go. Not just sushi, but great hibachi too.

3. Amedeo’s

Okay. This is historical. It has been open since 1963, bleeds Wolfpack red, and it shows on everything. So many pictures, history, murals and other memorabilia line the walls of Amedeo’s. Not to mention, it is Italian and less than five minutes from campus. Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Another must for NC State fans.

4. Sushi Blues

A little more on the expensive side, but it has NC State themed sushi. So, basically, a must before graduation day or for any Wolfpack fan.

5. Slice of NY Pizza

I knew it as I <3 NY Pizza, but it still has yummy pizza and salads. They have deals every day and huge pizza slices. So good, and I never spend over nine or ten dollars when I go. With the location on Hillsborough Street, it’s convenient to grab between classes or anytime you're near campus.

6. Baja Burrito

Super fast and so good. Enough said.

7. Snoopy’s Hot Dogs

Located further down Hillsborough Street is a cute outdoor local chain that has awesome hot dogs and specials to go along with them. Many people don’t know, but they also have really, really good chicken salad. 10/10 would recommend.

8. Sammy’s Tap and Grill

Good gathering spot and game day atmosphere. Sports oriented and fun. Also a bar so, go college.

9. El Cerro

Margs, chips, ACPs, tacos. It’s all here and college friendly.

10. Hibachi Sushi

This is a hidden gem at the Avent Ferry Shopping Center that is becoming more known. Great hibachi that is a ton of food for around seven dollars. They also have BOGO sushi, which also allows you to get your fix. Two sushi rolls and hibachi for around $15. Great college budget plus.

11. Mitch’s Tavern

A piece of history from the movie Bull Durham! If not for the movie, go because it is one of the last historical pieces of Hillsborough Street left. It’s also upstairs, so it has an awesome setup.

12. Groucho’s Deli

Very good sandwiches and chips. It is decently quick and a good location in relation to campus. Definitely should check it out.

There are obviously a ton more options, but these are some great ones that I really have enjoyed! Check them out when you get the chance or need a quick lunch in between work and classes!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
