We all love to find cool events and make plans, but let's be real that list may end up with a hefty bill. But here are some cheap events to keep your pockets fat and your experiences enriching.

1. BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn Festival

BRIC CELEBRATE BROOKLYN! FESTIVAL

1. I love Brooklyn

2. I like free concerts.

This summer BRIC in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance has 25 free music and dance performances from multiple genres (jazz, indie, hip-hop). Other events hosted range from $45-$60. This is a cool idea to meet up after work and enjoy live music. It's their 40th anniversary of this festival so there's a clear indication it's an event you'll not want to miss.

2. CURLFEST

CURLFEST 2018

CURLFEST, presented by Curly Girl Collective, is an experience you need to have. This celebration of natural hair is a breeding ground for self-love, curly girl support and uplifting women. For their fifth year, CURLFEST provides access to natural hair and fashion vendors, games, giveaways, and live demos. General admission is free, but for exclusive deals, one can purchase packages ranging from $25-$49. Let your coils, kinks, fros, dreads, braids and everything in between flourish at CURLFEST.

3. Whitney Museum of American Art

One of my favorite museums. If you're a lover of art or want to something for free on a Friday night after walking the Highline, the Whitney is for you. Friday evenings, from 7-10pm the Whitney has a broad variety of exhibits and is a cheap and cultured evening for the books.

4. Museum of Ice Cream: The Pint Shop

The Pint Shop, an immersive grocery store, makes its return to NYC for the summer on 14th Street and colorful is an understatement. Enjoy free samples, take photos in life-size pint installations, buy merchandise or sign up for an ice cream tasting. Admission is free and their signature flavors are available for $4.99 a pint. Get your taste buds ready because the pop-up shop will be leaving in August.

5. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Most famously known as "The MET" and host of the annual Met Gala is the largest art museum in the United States. The Met has vast exhibits ranging from ancient societies to modern art and fashion. Tickets are pay as you wish ($1 will suffice, trust I've done it) Take photos on the iconic Met stairs and enjoy a walk in Central Park after your excursion.

NYC is the place to be for the summer! Grab your MetroCard and best buds and head out for some summer fun.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
