Dear Charlotte traffic,
I hate you. In fact, you are undoubtably the worst thing to encounter on any given day at any given moment. If I need to go anywhere, I better leave an extra 15 minutes earlier than I really should need to in order to account in some time when I will be just sitting on the highway. And even worse, with leaving 15 minutes earlier, I'm still late most of the time.
You people can't drive. I get it, everyone is annoyed, in a rush, and frustrated at this traffic. But if you aren't paying attention or you're hurriedly driving to get where you need to be, you only make it worse for everyone else. If you would stop being in a rush so much (because honestly, having to go a little over the speed limit to be slightly faster than everyone else doesn't actually get you to where you're going any faster) then maybe there wouldn't be so many accidents. As well as if everyone would just put down their phones and pay attention to the road, they wouldn't cause thousands of people to be late to work.
Trust me, I know how it is. That was me a couple months ago. And you know what happened? I ended up totaling someone else's car and blocking off ANOTHER lane on I-77. It was horrible.
The truth is, the construction in Charlotte will never end. I don't know why, but I know it's a fact. When you think the project is done, the city will start a new one, so don't get your hopes up about anything.
And about that, why is there so much construction? I get it, Charlotte, we could really use that light rail, but blocking off half of North Tryon street DOES NOT help, at all. It makes everyone resent the light rail.
Anyway, my point being is that you are extremely inconvenient. I don't have time for you. When I go to work in the morning and it should only take me 25 minutes to get there, but it actually takes me 55 minutes due to the amount of time I'm just sitting on the highway, it sets off my entire day.
To other drivers: Please, stop only thinking of yourself and start being considerate of everyone else. You do not own the road and you are not the only one on it, and certainly not the only one that needs to be somewhere.
