It all started when my wife’s sister brought home a stray cat they had found nearby.

I’ve always been fond of animals. Unfortunately, I was allergic to dogs all my life. So being a dog owner was canceled out. I never really saw myself with pets anytime soon since I always thought they would be a big cost on my budget. When the stray cat was brought into my house my wife was in love. I couldn’t say no.

We went through the tedious process of getting it shots, antibiotics, and clearing the fleas she had. In the end I was attached to the cat as much as my wife was. I’ve heard and seen some vicious mean cats. This cat was very loving and respectful. She adapted to the litter box the first day. She allows me to clip her nails. The showering we are still getting her used to but from research cats can adapt nicely. Now she is officially a part of our lives. Here is a picture of Sage my cat playing with one of her favorite toys!

There was a lot of changes when i adopted a cat in my experience.

I noticed that I was excited to get home and feed my cat. I cleaned the house more often for the sake of the cat having space and not getting hurt. I was able to concentrate more on things with the cat sitting next to me. I felt less stressed while petting her and playing. All positive things!

Other than falling in love with your pet. There are a few observations I've noticed while being a pet owner and talking to other pet owners.

1. People say that they seem more respected by showing that they can commit to something other than themselves. (As long as you are a "good" pet owner)

2. On a stressful day getting home to your pet that only wants to love you (and be fed) can be one of the most satisfying things.

3. Many dog and cat owners tell me they sleep better with their pet next to them.

Overall, it seems all conversations with pet owners are always positive. If you have the time and money for a pet. It can make a big difference. You can always ask to babysit a pet of a friend or family and see if it seems to work out for you!

Now here is a picture of Sage editing the article! J.K.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
