I know most of you are probably thinking, "country music is good now? No it's not." And you may be slightly right. Country music is not what it used to be. The George Straight sound has turned into a Brett Eldridge sound, and the genre in itself has completely changed. But that does not make country music now a bad genre, just different. Due to the negativity that true country fans have shown recently, I put together some of the top country artists I have grown to love and appreciate and jam to.
Brett Young.
One of my soririty sisters recently introduced me to my new favorite artist. His two most known songs, "Sleep Without You" and "In Case You Didn't Know" are beyond perfect, and I would recommend him to anyone who at least tolerates country.
Brett Eldridge (It must be a Brett thing).
He has and always will be my favorite male country singer. From "Raymond" to "Wanna Be That Song," each song by him is beyond perfect.
Carrie Underwood.
I don't really have to expand on Carrie Underwood... #LegGoals.
Rascal Flatts.
Hey Miss Mayberry? Come wake me up? Have I brought back the last 10 years of your life yet? Rascal Flatts has always been here and I hope they always are.
Lance.
If you haven't heard the song "American Love Story," listen to it. You'll get all of the feels and it will leave you wanting more of this amazing new band.
Old Dominion.
Now, they don't have a 100 percent consistent, traditional country sound, but each one of their songs is different and incredibly clever. Plus, their voices are dream worthy. I can honestly say I know every song of theirs by heart, and I have yet to be sick of them.
Brad Paisley.
Just like Carrie Underwood, I have no words to add besides perfection.
RaeLynn.
We have Blake Shelton to thank for this precious singer. Her voice is pure and throws us back to the original sound of country.
Kelsea Ballerini.
I know she is more of the Taylor Swift type, but she still has quality songs and an amazing voice. She may not fall in the true country style, but she sure does have a place in my heart.
Artists of Then, Now & Forever.
If you have not heard the song "Forever Country" that is sung by basically every single amazing country artist still alive, please listen to it. It brought tears to my eyes to see the years of my childhood tied into my current years.
Even though country music has changed, and most of the good stuff isn't be made anymore, there are dozens of key artists that constantly blow my mind.
