According to a Carolina Alert message sent at 1:15 p.m., there was an active shooter on campus.

Shots were reportedly fired at the new Arnold School of Public Health building, which is located at the intersection of Assembly and College Street.

Students have been told to "seek self shelter" and to obey all safety officials.

Multiple rooms around campus have been barricaded by students and professors.

Park, College, and Assembly Streets are closed to all traffic.
