Friday, May 31 — Detroit Tigers
After being on the road for the majority of May, the Braves finally have some competitive home series on the horizon. To open a three-game series, a struggling Detroit Tigers team will be coming to SunTrust Park. This Tigers team started the year off strong at an 8-4 mark but have since fallen to six games under .500 at 18-24.
A Friday night game under the lights against a struggling team is a recipe for a great performance, not to mention there will be the trademark Friday night fireworks at the park.
June, 14-16 — Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies beat the Braves three consecutive times to begin the 2019 season. This will be the first time the Phillies come to Atlanta since Bryce Harper joined the squad. The Harper hype has sort of died down after he came back to earth from his hot start. Emotions will be tamed this time around giving the Braves an edge.
The Braves have begun to fix their pitching issues which was the main thing holding them back going all the way back to last season's division title. The starters have been better while the bullpen is starting to patch the major holes. This will be an exciting series between two division rivals.
June 17-19 — New York Mets
The Mets are another division rival and another team that started the year strong. They have been known for their fast starts and not much else after. They fell under .500 after the 42-game mark at 20-22. The rest of the division appears to be populated with lesser threats so Atlanta must take advantage of this team while it is reeling.
This is another three-game series at SunTrust Park so the Braves will have home-field advantage. Atlanta has typically performed better at their home park so they will likely gain on the Phillies for the top spot in the division with this series.
