3 Books You MAY Have Heard Of But NEED To Read

Not a lot of people like to read, and a lot of people just like to listen to audio books instead. But you'll thank me for suggesting you sit down and read these 3 books.

1. Mosquitoland by David ArnoldĀ

This Mississippi author uses his book to take you on the emotional rollercoaster that is finding out who you are and where you belong as a teenager. The main characte, Mim, take some a journey across country in a grey hound to find her mom, only to find herself instead.

2. My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga

*trigger warning* This book goes straight to the heart from the very beginning as the main character contemplates suicide and how sheā€™s going to commit it. Throughout the book, we get an inside look into why the character wants to commit suicide, how she plans it, and ultimately how she overcomes the want to commit suicide.

3. A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard

This autobiography tells the story of how Jaycee was abducted before school one morning and her escape many years later. Jaycee doesnā€™t shy away from telling all the details of what happened to her and how it affected her.

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
