If you do not read, you should. If you do read, you should read more. Reading a book is like taking your brain to the playground. Rather than being in front of a screen that shows you everything and leaves little to the imagination, books allow you to take the creative reigns and develop your own version of the author's world. Books keep you sharp and observant, and reading a character's thoughts can be extremely beneficial to understanding those who are different from you. I have put together a list of 18 books you should read before turning 18 years old, and these books are just a starting point.
1. The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
