Ahh, Black Friday, the one day a year where it's considered perfectly fine to trample others for a sale when just the day before we were being thankful for what we already have. On Black Friday somehow, it's easy to defend trampling that soccer mom just to grab that hot new purse you have had your eye on for weeks but, honestly, is it worth it? God knows that that purse is going to go out of style in a couple of weeks and now that lady is on the floor.

Black Friday, in itself, isn't a bad holiday, trust me, I know. The amount of great deals I have gotten is astounding. What's bad is the way people behave on this holiday, fighting each other tooth and nail to purchase things that would one day become absolutely useless. Grown men, grown women, teenagers, and children (yes, even children, I've seen it and it's just really sad) alike leave the sanctity of their homes for the slim chance to get a shiny new thing while maiming another human.

And let's not forget the treatment of the poor retail worker who has probably been working since Thanksgiving night and is just trying to serve the mob of people gathered for the sale on some appliance or clothing item while keeping everyone from killing each other. On top of all that, he/she has to deal with boatloads of angry customers yelling, just to get an even better deal.

With the way people behave on this day, it's hard to believe that people that Thanksgiving was just the day before. People seem to lose all compassion and become manic shoppers who are hunting for a good bargain themselves and don't mind pushing down the little guy just to get what they want.To them, in the end, it's all worth it since it's Black Friday but honestly, it really isn't. You just can't justify assaulting someone because hey, it's Black Friday. So please anyone, everyone, stop using Black Friday as an excuse to be an asshole.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
