The music

Not only are there the classic hits from the original movie ("Get'cha Head In The Game," "Stick to the Status Quo," "We're All In This Together," "Breaking Free'),but there are also a lot of new and great songs written by the stars on the show that are sure to get stuck in your head as well.
The realism
The show is real, fresh, and progressive. One of the main characters has two moms. Her counterpart faces the strife of parental divorce, and his mom moving on. And in their production of the musical, Sharpay is played by a boy. This is incredible for the younger generations because it redefines identity and familial norms that are often not seen as the typical way to do things. Showing kids that these things are OK and embraced by so many makes it so much easier for them to be true to themselves.
The talent

These kids are remarkable. The actors wrote the original songs in the show, and every time they sing I find myself covered in goosebumps. When I watch, I feel like I am in the show myself, and I feel truly connected to the characters.
The characters
The show has several complex characters. You will flip flop between loving them and hating them as you watch their true characters unfold. This is amazing because it is so representative of what we see every day in real life.
The drama
I don't know about you, but in high school, I always loved watching everyone else's drama go down. This show has juicy high school drama that is sure to grab your attention and keep you waiting in major suspense.
Joshua Bassett

Not only does he play a character that so many of us can find familiar as he battles difficulties with family, himself, his friends, and his feelings, but he will immediately steal your heart. He is an incredibly talented actor, singer, and songwriter. He plays both his character Ricky and Ricky's character Troy so well. The songs he sings and the songs that he writes for the show are breathtaking.
The cameos
Not only are the stars crazy talented and similar to Disney Channel shows, but two stars from the original "High School Musical" movie are featured in the series! Martha Cox, who loves to "pop and lock and jam and break," and Lucas Grabeel, who played Ryan, both make appearances.
I was a little hesitant to start this new Disney+ show, but I guarantee it will have you soarin', flyin'.
