We are human. God placed us here for a reason - each individual life has a purpose. But, we are human. We feel emotions in both mild and extreme ways. We face circumstances that tear us down and strip us of our happiness; we face people who do the same. We can be our own worst enemies and degrade ourselves in every way possible. Regardless of what the situation is, God did not intend for us to suffer. We can find peace and love in Him through prayer and diving into His Word. There are so many Bible verses that comfort the soul, but here are a few of my favorites.
1. Deuteronomy 31:8
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
2. Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
3. Psalm 37:23-24
"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
4. Psalm 55:22
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."
5. Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
6. Isaiah 40:31
". . . but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
7. Jeremiah 29:11

10. John 14:27

11. Romans 8:31
"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
